About us
Find out more about us and our history.
The history of the Kalte Herberge ski lifts began in the 1967/1968 winter season with the opening of the first platter lift, shortly after the construction of the B 500 road. As popularity grew, an additional T-bar lift was added in the winter of 1972/1973.
In recent years, modern conveyor belts have been added, providing even more comfort and safety:
- 2017/2018: A 30-metre-long conveyor belt with a protective glass roof
- 2020/2021: A 100-metre-long conveyor belt with a wooden tunnel
Originally run by Emil Winterhalder, his son Franz Winterhalder took over the business in 1973. Since 2018, Veronika Winterhalder has been leading the Kalte Herberge ski lifts into the future as operations manager and owner.
We look forward to seeing you and hope for a snowy winter.
In the summer months, the cows, cattle and calves enjoy the fresh grass of the ski area.
